Pallet Size: Either 10 x 25kg ( ¼ tonne), 20 x 25kg ( ½ tonne), 30 x 25kg (¾ tonne), 40 x 25kg ( 1 tonne).
Shell size: Approximately. 6-8mm
Coverage: 10 x 25kg packs will cover approximately 12sqm at 20mm depth.
Description & Application:
Cleaned crushed, dried and graded shell. Suitable for interior and exterior plant topping (mulch).
Our clients have used this product to create beach themed gardens and roof terraces where the shell's low density makes it an ideal medium.
The shell has also been successfully used as a natuaral pH correction in stocked ponds. The processing of the shell includes washing, crushing, drying and heating, thus guaranteeing the product to be free of salmonella. It is also routinely tested for dioxin and heavy metals, and shown to be microbiologically free of pathogenic micro-organisms and mycotoxins.
The shell is considered to be little too small to be of long term use for footpaths.
The colour of the shell may vary from that shown, if colour is an important factor for your application please ask for a sample before ordering.

Q: I want to use crushed oyster shells to cover a sculpture, do you know what your 25kg bag covers? Best Wishes Clive.

Thank you for your enquiry.
Obviously the quantity required will depend on how close the oyster shell is applied and how much waste is generated by the covering process. Assuming no waste and a close coverage my best estimate is that 1 Sqm would require approximately 4.5kg.
