Description and Application:
This extremely durable stone is resistant to algal and moss growth making it ideal for paths and driveways as well as general hardscaping applications.
Black basalt is a stock item and can generally be delivered in 2 to 3 working days.
Spaggtoid: The occurance of volcanic rock is relatively rare in Southern England but is more abundant in the North and Scotland. Basalt was once worked in Derbyshire for road surfacing, and is still quarried at a number of locations in the North East of England and Southern Scotland where it is known as Whinstone.
Product Alternative: Volcanic black basalt is also available in a 6mm size suitable for dry dashing and alpine gardens at the same price as the 10mm stone shown. Should you require this size product simply order the 10mm size and specify the actual size required in the order comments when passing through the checkout.
We can also supply a larger 20mm chipping size suitable for driveways. Should you require this size of product simply order the 10mm size and specify the actual size required in the order comments when passing through the check-out. This product will attract a £24.00 surcharge per tonne over the 10mm product which will be applied by our sales office.
