Beach 49 Coarse Volcanic Black Sand: A versatile professional staging and event surface.

Imaging and Film Assignments:
When dry the sand has a neutral grey, low reflectance colour with moderate product holding capabilities. Moistened the sand takes on a dark black sparkling wet look. Best results are often obtained by imaging "just wet", too much moisture will provide high reflectance. The sand's rounded grain shape will be discernable in macro shots.

When walked on barefoot it is kind to toes, but take care when walking with shoes as on hard surfaces the grains can behave like little marbles!

The sand has been washed and kiln dried ensuring that it is clean and doesn't stain clothes or other props.
Being colourfast the sand can be used under water. Some slight initial clouding may occur but this will rapidly drop out of suspension.

Merchandise Production:
Natural clean and dry dark grey sand ideal for layering in glassware, for use in terrariums and with candles. Colourfast and can be stuck to creations using conventional glues including hot glue.

Window Dressing:
The sand is dust free and hence finds specific application for volcanic island themed window dressing, events and promotions.

Aquarium Substrate:
Sustainably sourced and 100% natural. Suitable for use in all aquaria types.

Beach 49 Black Sand emulates the lacustrine sands of the African Rift valley, comprising in excess of 95% inert volcanic particles and 5% small shell fragments. This means it doesn't affect water quality thanks to its inert nature.

This natural water worn black sand has a fully rounded particle shape and looks particularly at home in both African Cichlid setups and Hawaiian style Reef Aquariums.

The grading and shape of our coarse Beach 49 Black Sand ensures that there are no harsh "gritty bits" making the sand kind to catfish and bottom dwelling life.

What is Beach 49 Volcanic Sand?
Sand Grain Size: Similar to coarse sea salt (Nominal 1-2.5mm)

Our coarse Beach 49 volcanic sand is an exceptionally clean, dust free, washed natural sand which has been kiln dried.

Environmental Considerations:
This sand is sourced from an European deposit abd worked under strict enviromnmental controls.

Colour & Form:
We take great care to provide accurate images, however, shade variations can occur both with the products themselves and with ambient lighting.

It can also be difficult to adequately describe and visualise grain size, we do, however, show products in context with additional images.

For both colour and form please request a sample if these factors are critical to your application.

Collection Logistics: Aggregates will be supplied in easy to handle recyclable plastic packaging. Rocks and boulders will be supplied loose. Products will be loaded as appropriate by hand or using mechanical means into customer's vehicles.
